
Phil Hartog, company owner and Managing Director, is the son of a builder and commenced his working life in the building industry.
Like many Australians, he became aware that historically, property in Australia doubles in value every 10 years and if you own an investment property, it is predominately paid for by the tenant.With this knowledge, Phil embarked on a mission to create the ultimate retirement plan and in doing so laid the foundation for what was to become OHL group. His theory was simple; purchase 10 investment properties, retain them for at least 10 years in order for them to double in value, sell half to pay off the original loans, and retire on the rental income earned from the remaining debt free investment properties.
In his efforts to realise his retirement plan Phil tried every available strategy, from buying off the plan to renovating and self-building. He made many mistakes along the way but learned valuable lessons from each. Although he fell short of his initial 10-year objective, he became financially secure by the age of 35 and gained invaluable knowledge of Australian property market trends along the way.
Over time Phil noticed specific indicators of the properties that yielded high returns and those that did not, and created a property research system that enabled him to make more informed decisions. In the next 5 years he achieved more than in the previous 10 – and accomplished his goal.
As Phil’s research strategies continued to develop and bring him great results, he began helping friends and colleagues with their own wealth creation plans. OHL Group was established in 2005 and Phil now offers his knowledge systems to assist all Australians in reaching their property investment goals by giving them a firm understanding of the fundamentals of responsible, low risk, residential property investment, providing long term growth and financial security.
